An urban garden with reception space and a swimming pool - Toulouse

Client brief :

«We really want a friendly reception space to invite our friends and chill around the pool»

Every projects starting point is an initial consultation in the form of a garden coaching session which enables us to identify the main elements of the clients brief ,on site, through a discussion covering a vast array of subjects, technical and subjective enabling us to have a full comprehension of the clients requirements. 

This garden, situated in a lovely area in Toulouse has a mainly west facing orientation. Our clients had several ideas about the style of garden they wanted, and these ideas have been woven into the final project 

Garden design concept :

This garden, previously dominated by a huge stone pine, has been transformed into a welcoming living space to relax with friends around the pool with 2 reception terrasses.  

The entrance in fine gravel provide a safe and practical and parking solution. The bins are carefully concealed behind wood panels and planting. 

Grassed areas and mixed shrub and perennial beds are designed for easy maintenance and offer year round interest. 

The main feature of the garden is the swimming pool with a natural limestone terrasse surround complete with a stone bench and bespoke metal pergola for summer shade. 

A masonry wall includes a water feature and serves as a bench as part of a shaded lounge area equipped with parasols. 

The surrounding mixed borders with tree, shrubs and perennials create a luxurious framework to complement the pool. Raised beds provide spaces for growing the aromatic plants and vegetables.

This project required the close cooperation and coordination of several different specialist artisans to create a complex garden project combining hard and soft materials to create a sophisticated garden combining style and practicality.
